Transformations Counseling
Transformations Counseling was founded in 2018 by Dr. Milo Wilson out of a desire to increase access to high-quality, LGBTQ+ affirming therapy. At Transformations our mission is to create an affirming, therapeutic space to help people heal, grow, and thrive as their authentic selves. This continues to be our driving purpose as we grow. We specialize treating anxiety, depression, and PTSD and our passion is working with LGBTQ+ individuals. We aspire to provide the highest-quality, personalized, evidence-based mental health care in the Richmond area and aim to help all our clients to feel seen, heard, and valued.
Milo Wilson, PhD
Psychologist and Founder

Dr. Wilson the founder of Transformations and a licensed clinical psychologist in Virginia. He received his PhD in Clinical Psychology from Ohio University and completed his postdoctoral fellowship in LGBT Veteran Healthcare at the Milwaukee Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He started Transformations as a part-time practice in 2018 and has enjoyed growing the practice over the years. He specialize in treating anxiety, depression, and PTSD, as well as in working with LGBTQ+ individuals.
When he is not working he loves spending time traveling, discovering new restaurants, and taking in live music with his partner. He is a music nerd and amateur drummer.
My Approach to Therapy
Dr. Wilson's therapy practice is centered around using evidence-based treatments. These are the therapies that are known to be the most effective based on the scientific research. He primarily uses cognitive, behavioral, and mindfulness-based therapies. Dr. Wilson believes that there is no one size fits all approach to therapy and enjoys collaborating with his clients to identify their personal goals and the best approach to help them make changes that will allow them live their best lives.
Anna Wiese, MS

She/her
Anna is a Clinical Psychology Doctoral Student at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has three years of experience providing supervised psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and groups, both in-person and virtually. Anna has experience working in a variety of mental health settings, including providing integrated care in primary care clinics and addiction recovery programs. She is passionate about working with LGBTQ+ clients, and she is working towards a specialization in helping clients address anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use concerns.
Anna currently resides in Richmond, VA, where she enjoys going on walks, reading, watching live music, and cuddling with her two cats.
My Approach to Therapy
Anna draws upon a variety of therapeutic frameworks to best meet the needs of her clients, with her therapy practice being primarily rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Her goal is to provide an affirming and empowering space for her clients to explore the connections between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Anna is intentional in her work about recognizing how societal systems may have shaped clients’ experiences. She strives to help clients make meaningful changes to create fulfilling lives.
