She is dedicated to providing culturally responsive, affirming care and is especially passionate about supporting LGBTQIA+ clients. Taryn’s clinical interests include interpersonal difficulties, identity development, body image, and eating concerns. Additionally, she is particularly invested in exploring factors that promote resilience and well-being within queer and trans communities.

Taryn’s Approach to Therapy

Taryn recognizes that many LGBTQIA+ people spend years navigating complex relationships with their bodies and identities, trying to feel at home in themselves while managing external pressures, dysphoria, or the lingering effects of diet culture. You might feel disconnected from your body or others, caught between how you think you should experience the world and what you actually feel. She believes that therapy can be a space to reconnect with yourself, to rebuild trust, safety, and compassion in your relationship with your body and identity.

Taryn specializes in working with LGBTQIA+ young adults, though has experience supporting clients across a wide range of ages. Regardless of their stage of life, her clients often share a common goal: healing from body image distress, disordered eating, and chronic self-criticism. Her work supports clients exploring gender identity, recovering from diet culture, or navigating the intersections of queerness and body image.

Taryn’s approach integrates Intuitive Eating principles with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), all within a multiculturally informed and LGBTQIA+-affirming framework. She helps her client shed external expectations and center in a more grounded, compassionate relationship with themself. She aims to collaborate with her client to move toward finding peace in nourishment, confidence in authenticity, and acceptance in your body as it is today.

If you’re looking for a therapist who brings warmth, affirmation, and expertise in both eating and identity-related concerns, we invite you to reach out for a consultation with Taryn. Together, she will work with you to create meaningful, lasting change that aligns with your values and supports your healing.
